Physiotherapy Appin
If you've searched for physio Appin, you're probably after two things: someone who will work out what's going on, and a clinic close enough that you'll keep coming back. We're at 49 Appin Road, inside Appin Healthcare Centre, with on-site parking and wheelchair access.
Appin Healthcare Centre is a new general practice that opened in July 2026 1. Appointments are one-on-one with your physiotherapist for the whole session, and they start with an assessment, not with treatment, because we'd rather know what we're treating first.
Where to find us
Well Motion Physiotherapy & Allied Health, Appin
49 Appin Rd, Appin NSW 2560 (inside Appin Healthcare Centre)
Phone: (02) 8111 5633
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Those are our physiotherapy hours. The medical centre keeps longer hours than we do, so if you're planning around a physio appointment, work to the times above.
Appin Healthcare Centre is a bulk billing general practice with on-site pathology collection and on-site ultrasound 1. Practically, that means your GP and your physio are in the same building, which helps when something needs a scan, a referral or a second opinion.
Getting in and getting parked
There's on-site parking and wheelchair access, so you won't be circling for a spot or negotiating stairs to get in. Appointments are recommended rather than walk-in, so it's worth calling ahead or booking online even for a first visit.
What we see most around Appin
Time on the road. Appin sits on Appin Road, a busy state road that carries freight between Wollongong and south-west Sydney 2, and for a lot of people here, getting anywhere means time behind the wheel. That tends to show up as neck pain and sciatica after long drives, and as whiplash after a car accident, which we can treat through a CTP claim.
Physical work. Appin Mine, an underground coal mine, is part of the local working week 3. Physically demanding jobs and long shifts are a common source of back, shoulder and knee problems, and if yours happened at work, we can manage it through a WorkCover claim.
A growing village. The NSW Government rezoned part of the Appin Precinct in 2023 for up to 12,900 new homes 4. More families means more weekend sport, and more of the ACL injuries and ankle sprains that come with it.
Not sure which of those describes you? That's fine. Working it out is the first part of the appointment, not something you need to arrive with.
FAQs
Do I need a referral to see a physio in Appin?
No. You can book with us directly. A referral only matters if your physiotherapy is funded through a GP chronic condition management plan, or through a WorkCover, CTP or DVA claim.
Can I claim physio through Medicare?
Sometimes, and only through a specific pathway. If you have a chronic or long-term condition, your GP can assess whether you qualify for a GP chronic condition management plan. The plan covers up to 5 sessions per calendar year, or up to 10 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 5. Medicare pays a rebate rather than the full fee, so a gap usually still applies. Conveniently, the GPs at Appin Healthcare Centre are in the same building 1.
What does a physio appointment cost?
It depends on the appointment type and on how it's funded: privately, through private health extras, a GP chronic condition management plan, the NDIS, or a WorkCover or CTP claim. Call us on (02) 8111 5633 and we'll tell you what your visit will cost before you book. Session lengths, payment methods and what to bring are on our FAQs page.
