Mobile Physiotherapy Prestons

There's no walk-in clinic on Bernera Road, and that stops a lot of people in Prestons booking anything at all. It shouldn't. Well Motion doesn't run a clinic here. We come to you. A physiotherapist arrives at your home with the assessment and treatment equipment a proper session needs, and works through the same structured, root-cause approach our patients get in our Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan/Harrington Park and Appin clinics.

Prestons is a young, family-dense pocket of south-west Sydney: around 15,694 people, a median age of 34, an average household of 3.6, and nearly two-thirds of families being couples with children 1. That shapes how we work here. Sessions get built around school pick-ups and shift rosters, not around finding a park near a clinic at 2pm on a Tuesday.

What a mobile visit in Prestons looks like

A first visit runs like a full clinic appointment, just in your space. We talk through what happened and what you're trying to get back to, assess properly, treat hands-on where that's the right call, and leave you with a plan you can do between sessions, not a printout of generic exercises.

Access here is simpler than in most of south-west Sydney. Prestons is almost entirely detached housing: 92.5% of occupied private dwellings are separate houses, and only 0.5% are flats or apartments 1. For nearly everyone that means driveway and front door: no intercom codes, no visitor parking rules, no lift to organise. You tell us the address and a time; that's the whole arrangement.

Full service detail is on our Mobile & In-Home Physiotherapy page. If something's happened outside normal hours and it can't wait, our 24/7 after-hours emergency mobile service covers Sydney, including Prestons.

If you got hurt on a Prestons worksite

Prestons has its own warehousing and distribution workforce. The Prestons Industrial Estate was approved in June 2016 for five warehouse and distribution buildings inside the suburb 2, and the estates around Bernera Road have grown since.

That work has a recognisable injury pattern behind it: repeated lifting, twisting under load, long hours on concrete, and the lower back, shoulder and knee problems that follow. They rarely start with one dramatic moment. They build, get worked through, and then stop you.

If it happened at work, the visit can happen at home after a shift, or at the workplace where the site allows it, and treatment is usually billed through the claim rather than out of your pocket.

Prestons isn't only young families

The suburb has an older and more complex side too. Two residential aged care homes operate here (BaptistCare Blue Hills Manor on Tulich Avenue 5 and Advantaged Care at Prestons Lodge on Melaleuca Place 6) alongside older adults living independently at home and disability housing across the suburb. When mobility is what makes getting to a clinic hard, travelling is the part a mobile visit removes.

The same is true at the other end of the age range. Prestons Public School serves local Kindergarten-to-Year-6 families 7, the Liverpool City Robins play out of Ash Road Reserve 3,4, and the Liverpool Catholic Club on Hoxton Park Road runs junior sport here 8. Weekend ankles and overuse shoulders turn up in the same household we're already visiting.

Areas We Cover

Prestons itself, postcode 2170: the residential streets either side of Kurrajong Road, the Bernera Road industrial area, and everything between.

If you're closer to a surrounding suburb, each has its own coverage page written for that area: Liverpool, Casula, Moorebank and Leppington. You can see everywhere we travel on our service areas page.

NDIS & WorkCover Support

Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider, provider number 4-KPN4WRT. We work with participants and support coordinators directly, and with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed funding. For participants living in supported or specialist disability accommodation in Prestons, sessions happen where you live: no transport to arrange, no appointment to get to. Full programme detail is on our NDIS Physiotherapy page.

For a workplace injury, Ahmed Elsayed holds SIRA approval 22498, which covers direct WorkCover claims, so treatment can be billed through the claim rather than paid for up front. To get started, we need a referral from your doctor and a copy of your Certificate of Capacity. The full process, including CTP claims, is set out on our WorkCover & CTP Physiotherapy page.

FAQs

Can physiotherapy be done at home?

Yes. The physiotherapist travels to you with the assessment and treatment equipment a real session needs, and treats you there: at home, at work, or wherever suits. You don't need to own any equipment or clear a room. For most Prestons homes it's a front-door visit with nothing to organise beforehand.

Is physiotherapy fully covered by Medicare?

For most people, no. Medicare doesn't cover physiotherapy in full. A GP-managed care plan can subsidise a limited number of sessions in a calendar year, and a gap payment usually still applies. The plan covers up to 5 sessions per calendar year, or up to 10 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 9. NDIS and WorkCover work differently: for eligible participants and accepted claims, those routes can cover mobile sessions without a gap.

Will the NDIS pay for physiotherapy?

It can, where physiotherapy sits in your plan. Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider (4-KPN4WRT), so we can invoice against plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed funding. What's covered and how it's claimed is set out on our NDIS Physiotherapy page.

How much does a physio visit cost?

It depends which route applies. A private session can usually be claimed against private health extras cover; an NDIS-funded session is invoiced against your plan; an accepted WorkCover claim is billed through the claim. Contact us with your situation and we'll tell you what applies before you book.

Does Well Motion have a clinic in Prestons?

No. There's no Well Motion clinic or reception you can walk into in Prestons. Everything here is a mobile or in-home visit, delivered from our Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan/Harrington Park and Appin clinics. If you'd rather be seen in a clinic, contact us and we'll tell you which one is easiest to reach.
