Mobile Physiotherapy Carnes Hill

Well Motion doesn't have a clinic you can walk into in Carnes Hill. We come to you instead. A physiotherapist arrives at your front door with the equipment a proper session needs, and works through the same structured, root-cause approach we use in our Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan and Appin clinics.

Carnes Hill sits in the Liverpool local government area in South-West Sydney, built around the community precinct off Kurrajong Road and Cowpasture Road. The 2021 Census counted 3,332 people here, a median age of 32 against 38 nationally, and 845 families 1. Households are big: 3.8 people on average, against 2.5 nationally and 2.7 across Greater Sydney 1.

That shapes the work: junior sport, post-natal recovery, the backs and shoulders that come with lifting small children, and the grandparent recovering from surgery in a house that's already full.

What a mobile physiotherapy visit in Carnes Hill looks like

A first visit runs like a full clinic appointment, just in your own space. We talk through what happened and what you're trying to get back to, assess properly, treat hands-on where that's right, and leave you with a plan you can carry out between sessions, not generic printed exercises.

Access is straightforward. At the 2021 Census, 97.6% of Carnes Hill's occupied private dwellings were separate houses and only 0.9% were flats 1. We park, we knock, we get started.

Home visits suit a suburb where the household, not the individual, is the unit. Only 37.3% of residents speak English only at home, and 72.3% have both parents born overseas against 36.7% nationally 1. Treating someone in their own lounge room means whoever helps them with appointments is already there, and the exercises get explained once, to everyone in the room.

Full detail is on our Mobile & In-Home Physiotherapy page. If something happens after hours and can't wait, our 24/7 emergency mobile service covers Sydney, Carnes Hill included.

A suburb still being built around its centre

The Carnes Hill Community and Recreation Precinct opened at 600 Kurrajong Road in August 2016, with a community centre, large indoor and outdoor recreation spaces 2, the Michael Clarke Recreation Centre and the Carnes Hill Library 3. Council describes the community centre as fully accessible, with wheelchair access and disabled parking 2, useful if you're coordinating support for a wheelchair user.

More is coming to the same site. A new Carnes Hill Aquatic and Recreation Centre is funded at $57.7 million: $53.4 million from the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program plus $4.3 million committed by Liverpool City Council in November 2024 4. Plans include a 25-metre, eight-lane indoor pool, a learn-to-swim pool and a children's splash pad, with construction due to start by mid-2027 and finish by the end of 2028 4.

That matters for recovery as well as recreation: an indoor pool close to home makes low-impact rehabilitation far more practical for someone who can't yet drive. Until then, we work with what you have: your hallway, your back steps, your kitchen bench.

Areas We Cover

Carnes Hill, postcode 2171, plus Horningsea Park, Hoxton Park and Middleton Grange. The ABS groups Carnes Hill, Hoxton Park and Horningsea Park into one statistical area 5: one centre, three names on the letterbox.

Neighbouring suburbs with their own coverage page: Horningsea Park, Hoxton Park, Middleton Grange, West Hoxton, Cecil Hills, Hinchinbrook, Green Valley, Edmondson Park and Prestons. Liverpool too. Everywhere we travel is listed on our service areas page.

NDIS & WorkCover Support

Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider, provider number 4-KPN4WRT. We work directly with Carnes Hill participants and support coordinators across plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed funding. Because sessions happen at home, therapy happens in the environment you need to move around in, which usually makes goal-setting more concrete than a clinic room allows. Full programme detail is on our NDIS Physiotherapy page.

For a workplace injury, Ahmed Elsayed holds SIRA approval 22498, covering direct WorkCover claims, so treatment can be billed through the claim rather than out of your pocket, and a home visit saves another half-day travelling. The full process, including CTP claims, is on our WorkCover & CTP Physiotherapy page.

FAQs

Will the NDIS pay for physiotherapy?

It can, where physiotherapy is funded in your plan. Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider (4-KPN4WRT), working with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed funding. Not sure what your plan covers? Contact us and we'll check first.

What category is physio under NDIS?

Physiotherapy sits in the Capacity Building budget: the NDIS states this funding can be spent on therapy supports such as physiotherapy or occupational therapy 6. It's a stated support, so it can't be moved between categories 6.

Who is entitled to free physiotherapy?

There's no general entitlement to free physiotherapy in Australia. There are three real funding routes: a GP-managed Medicare care plan subsidising a limited number of sessions, an NDIS plan with therapy supports funded in it, and an accepted WorkCover claim. Contact us and we'll tell you which, if any, fits.

Can I get 5 free physiotherapy visits from Medicare?

Medicare doesn't cover physiotherapy in full. A GP-managed care plan can subsidise a limited number of sessions in a calendar year, and a gap payment usually still applies. The plan covers up to 5 sessions per calendar year, or up to 10 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 7. NDIS and accepted WorkCover claims work differently, and can cover mobile sessions without a gap.

How much is an hour of physiotherapy?

It depends on the visit type and how it's funded: private, NDIS and accepted WorkCover sessions are billed differently. Rather than quote a figure that may not apply to you, contact us and we'll give you the real cost before you book.

Does Well Motion have a clinic in Carnes Hill?

No. There's no Well Motion clinic or reception you can walk into here. Everything in Carnes Hill is a mobile or in-home visit, delivered from our Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan and Appin clinics. Prefer a clinic appointment? Contact us and we'll tell you which is easiest to reach.
