Mobile Physiotherapy in Wetherill Park

Something goes in your lower back halfway through a shift. You finish the day anyway, then spend the next week working out how treatment is meant to fit around a roster, and whether getting to a clinic is realistic when sitting in a car is the problem.

Wetherill Park sits in the City of Fairfield,9 postcode 2164.10 About 6,412 people live here8, but the Smithfield-Wetherill Park Industrial Estate, which Fairfield City Council describes as one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, with nearly 3,000 businesses and 20,000 jobs,1 means far more people spend their day here than sleep here.

Well Motion covers Wetherill Park as a mobile physiotherapy service. There's no clinic or walk-in address here: ours are at Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan/Harrington Park and Appin, all a fair drive away. So we come to you: at home, or on site where you work. 24/7 emergency mobile physiotherapy is available across Sydney when something can't wait until morning.

Why this page is built around workplace injuries

Manufacturing in NSW carries an injury rate of 54.5 per 1,000 workers against a state average of 28.1, close to double, over a 2013 to 2016 reference period.2 Nationally, manufacturing and transport, postal and warehousing are among just six industries accounting for 61% of serious workers compensation claims.4 Those are the industries that fill this precinct.

What those claims consist of matters more for treatment. Body stressing is the single largest mechanism, at 50,600 serious claims (about a third of the national total), and injury to a joint, ligament, muscle or tendon is the most common nature of injury.4 In NSW, roughly 44,000 serious claims were made each year between 2018 and 2023, and more than half related to musculoskeletal disorders.3

In plainer terms: backs, shoulders, hands and knees, from lifting, repetition and awkward loads, not sports injuries. Median time lost across serious claims nationally is 7.4 weeks.4 That's what we're working against, and why starting early matters more here than a tidy course of appointments.

What a visit here looks like

At home, a session needs about as much room as a clear patch of lounge room floor. We bring the table, the hands-on treatment and whatever equipment the session calls for.

On site it's often more useful again. Seeing the bench, the pallet or the seat you work at tells us what a treatment room can't: what you're loading, how often, and which part of the task is aggravating it. We'll work with whatever space your employer can give us, and we're happy to speak with a return-to-work coordinator.

Areas We Cover

Wetherill Park and nearby suburbs: Prospect, Pemulwuy, Greystanes, Horsley Park, Smithfield, Abbotsbury, Bossley Park and Prairiewood, including the full run of the industrial estate across the Wetherill Park and Smithfield side.

Some neighbouring suburbs have their own coverage pages: Abbotsbury, Horsley Park and Fairfield. The full list is on our service areas page.

When we can get to you depends on what's already booked that day. Tell us your suburb (or your worksite) when you get in touch, and we'll be straight about what we can do and when.

WorkCover & NDIS Support

WorkCover. Ahmed Elsayed's SIRA approval number is 22498, which covers treatment under a NSW workers compensation claim. You can check it on SIRA's public register of approved allied health practitioners6. We'd rather you verified it than took our word for it.

A SIRA-approved practitioner can in some instances begin treatment without prior approval from the insurer, which SIRA describes as designed to support timely treatment and a return to work.5 One step we can't skip: we have to confirm your eligibility with the insurer before your first consultation. Bring us your claim number and insurer details and we'll handle that part. If you were hurt at work, the claim covers your treatment. It shouldn't be coming out of your private health extras.

NDIS. Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider, number 4-KPN4WRT (also checkable, on the NDIS Commission's public provider register).7 We work with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed participants in their own homes across Wetherill Park, and we handle the paperwork rather than leaving it with your support coordinator. See NDIS physiotherapy for how that works with us more generally.

FAQs

Do physios come to the house?

We do. It's the only way we work in Wetherill Park. There's no Well Motion address in this suburb to travel to. Family are welcome to sit in, which helps when someone else at home will be assisting with exercises between visits.

Can you see me at my workplace in the industrial estate, not just at home?

Yes. Workplace visits are a normal part of what we do here, and on this precinct they're often the more practical option: you're already on site, and we get to see the task that caused the problem. We'll need your employer's okay and somewhere reasonably private, and we'll fit around your shift.

Do I need a referral before you can start treating a work injury?

Not a GP referral, no. For a NSW workers compensation claim, a SIRA-approved practitioner can in some instances start treatment without prior insurer approval.5 What we do need is your claim number and insurer details, so we can confirm your eligibility before the initial consultation. That step isn't optional. Ring us with what you've got and we'll tell you whether you're ready to start.

Do you get more compensation if you have physio?

No. Treatment and compensation are separate things; physiotherapy isn't a lever that increases a payout. What it does affect is your recovery and how quickly you get back to work, which is what that median 7.4 weeks of lost time4 measures. Questions about the compensation side of your claim belong with your insurer or a legal adviser, not with us.

Tell us what's going on and we'll tell you honestly whether a home or workplace visit is the right call.
