Mobile & After-Hours Physio Parramatta

You've had the operation at Westmead, you're home in Harris Park, and the rehab that was meant to follow is the part nobody organised. Or you're the support coordinator trying to find a physiotherapist who will actually turn up at a participant's unit in Rydalmere.

Well Motion covers Parramatta as a mobile, home-visit service. One thing first: we don't have a clinic here. No reception, no waiting room, no walk-in door anywhere in Parramatta. What we have is a physiotherapist who travels to you, and an honest account of what that involves.

How far we're travelling, and what that means for booking

Our clinics are at Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan/Harrington Park and Appin. All three sit roughly forty kilometres from Parramatta, around forty minutes each way in free-flowing traffic, and longer across the M4 or the Cumberland Highway at the wrong time of day. None is closer than the others, so there's no clever routing that shortens the trip.

That shapes availability; it doesn't prevent it. Parramatta isn't a same-day, drop-everything area for us, and we'd rather say so than take a booking we can't honour. Give us your suburb and the week you need, and you'll get a straight yes or no. If something can't wait, that's a different service. Our 24/7 after-hours emergency mobile physiotherapy comes out to Parramatta after hours, on Sundays and on public holidays. Call (02) 8111 5633, answered 24/7.

What a home visit looks like here

Mobile physiotherapy means the assessment happens where the problem happens. The lift you're managing on crutches. The corridor you're learning to walk again. The desk you've been hunched over for eleven months. That context changes what we prescribe.

It matters more than usual here. A far higher share of homes across the Parramatta area are apartments than the NSW average 6, so a program quietly written for a spare room and a garage floor doesn't survive contact with a one-bedroom unit.

Westmead sits next to Parramatta rather than inside it, and its hospital is one of the largest teaching hospital campuses in the country 5. If you've come out of an orthopaedic procedure there and the travelling is the hard part, a visit at home is usually the practical answer. We're not connected to the hospital in any way: we just see a lot of recoveries stall in the first few weeks, the hardest weeks to get anywhere.

Areas We Cover

Parramatta, Harris Park, North Parramatta, Rosehill, Westmead, Northmead, Rydalmere, Telopea, Dundas, Dundas Valley, Ermington, Oatlands, Winston Hills, Constitution Hill, Old Toongabbie, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Pendle Hill, Granville, Camellia, Clyde, Silverwater, Newington, Wentworth Point, Melrose Park, North Rocks, Carlingford, Epping and Eastwood.

Several of those sit on a council boundary and are shared with the areas either side. Give us the address rather than the council name and we'll confirm what we can do. Our service areas page lists the suburbs with their own coverage pages.

NDIS & WorkCover Support

Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider (4-KPN4WRT), working with participants who are plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed. If you're still working out where your plan sits, Uniting is the NDIS Local Area Coordination partner for the Western Sydney service area, covering Parramatta alongside Blacktown, Cumberland and The Hills 3. That's a public role, not a relationship we're claiming: it's who you'd be dealing with locally.

The distance matters here in a way you can check. The NDIS sets a national price limit for physiotherapy and a separate price limit for provider travel 4, so the trip out to Parramatta is a real line item, not something buried in the session fee. We'd rather put that in front of you before you book than have it appear on an invoice afterwards. How we run sessions, and how support coordinators can refer, sits on our NDIS physiotherapy page.

For work injuries, Ahmed Elsayed holds SIRA approval (22498), covering NSW workers compensation claims directly, with no separate referral needed. Parramatta's working population is weighted heavily towards office-based work 6, and the injuries that come with it (necks, shoulders and lower backs that have quietly worsened for months) are a common reason to be seen at home or at work rather than lose half a day travelling.

FAQs

Does Well Motion have a clinic in Parramatta?

No. We have no clinic, reception or walk-in location in Parramatta. Our physical clinics are at Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan/Harrington Park and Appin. Here we offer mobile, home-visit physiotherapy and NDIS support only: a physiotherapist travels to you.

What conditions does mobile physio treat?

Broadly the same range we'd see in a clinic: post-surgical and post-orthopaedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal pain, sports and soft-tissue injuries, mobility and function work, and ongoing NDIS-funded programs. What changes is the setting, not the scope: our mobile physiotherapy page goes through it properly.

Will NDIS pay for physio?

Yes, where physiotherapy is funded in your plan. Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider (4-KPN4WRT), working with plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed participants. How much is funded depends on your plan and the goals it's attached to, so that's the first thing we'd check with you, not the last.

What is the NDIS hourly rate for physiotherapy?

The NDIS publishes a national price limit for physiotherapy, updated each year, plus a separate price limit for provider travel 4. Because we're travelling around forty minutes each way, that second one applies to you. We'll confirm both before you book.

Is physio fully covered by Medicare?

No, not as a general rule. If your GP has a chronic condition management plan in place and has referred you, you can claim a benefit for up to five individual allied health services per calendar year 1,2, all physiotherapy or a mix, and unused ones don't roll over 2. The physiotherapy item needs a GP referral and a session of at least 20 minutes 1. Medicare pays a benefit rather than necessarily the whole fee, so a gap can remain.

How much is physio at home?

A home visit is priced differently to a clinic visit, because travel time is part of it. And what you pay depends on how you're funded: NDIS, workers compensation, a Medicare chronic condition management referral, private health, or self-funded. Rather than publish a figure that may not apply to you, get in touch and we'll tell you what a visit costs first.

Is there a physio open on Sunday in Parramatta?

Yes. Our after-hours emergency service comes to you in Parramatta on Sundays and public holidays, and the phone is answered 24/7 on (02) 8111 5633. Regular mobile visits are booked ahead.

Ready to get started?

Book an appointment and tell us your suburb and how you're funded (NDIS, WorkCover, Medicare, private health or self-funded) and we'll confirm what's realistic before anything is locked in. If you'd rather talk it through first, contact us or call (02) 8111 5633.
