Mobile Physiotherapy Cumberland

Getting to the appointment is often the hardest part of the recovery. If you're in Merrylands or Greystanes with a knee that won't let you drive, or you're the one arranging care for a parent in Auburn who can't manage the trip anymore, the clinic visit itself can quietly become the reason treatment never starts.

Well Motion brings physiotherapy to you across the Cumberland Council area: at home, at your workplace, or by telehealth when getting out isn't realistic. We don't have a clinic here. No reception, no walk-in door. What we have is a mobile service that travels to you, and an honest view of what that means in practice.

How far we're travelling, and what that means for booking

Our nearest clinic is Engadine, and the run out to Cumberland sits somewhere around 35 to 55 minutes one way, depending on your suburb and when we're coming. Auburn and Lidcombe on the eastern edge are the shorter trip; Pemulwuy and Greystanes further again. Cumberland is one of the most densely populated local government areas in the country 3, so we book it in blocks rather than dropping single appointments into gaps in the day.

So this isn't a same-day, drop-everything area for us, and we'd rather say so than take a booking we can't honour. When you get in touch, we'll tell you whether the week you're asking for is realistic. If something can't wait, our 24/7 after-hours emergency mobile physiotherapy service is a separate conversation. Ask, and you'll get a straight answer.

What a home visit looks like here

Mobile physiotherapy means the assessment happens where the problem happens. The stairs up to your unit. The hallway you're getting around with a frame in. The bench height you've been lifting at all day. That context changes what we prescribe: a program built for the space you live in, not a generic one.

That matters more than usual around here. Close to one in three homes in Cumberland is a flat or unit, households average three people, and around three-quarters are family households 2, so a plan that quietly assumes an empty house and a spare room doesn't survive contact with a full one. This is a young area, too: median age 34, with only about one in ten residents aged 65 or over 2. Most of what we see isn't age-related decline; it's people working and raising families, fitting recovery around both. Through summer we'll often shift the harder parts of a program earlier in the day, because western Sydney heat decides whether it gets done.

Areas We Cover

Auburn, Berala, Girraween, Greystanes, Guildford, Guildford West, Merrylands, Merrylands West, Pemulwuy, Rookwood, South Granville, South Wentworthville and Woodpark all sit wholly or mostly inside the Cumberland Council area 1.

Several neighbouring suburbs straddle the boundary with the councils either side: Granville, Wentworthville, Westmead, Lidcombe, Regents Park, Toongabbie, Smithfield, Chester Hill, Pendle Hill, Holroyd, Mays Hill and Yennora among them 1. We cover those as well. Give us your address and we'll confirm what we can do, so you don't have to work out which council you're in.

Further out, our service areas page lists the suburbs with their own dedicated coverage pages, including those closer to our Engadine, Mount Annan, Narellan and Appin clinics.

NDIS & WorkCover Support

Well Motion is a registered NDIS provider (4-KPN4WRT). The NDIS lists physiotherapy among the therapy supports it can fund 4, and we work with participants who are plan-managed, self-managed and NDIA-managed.

There's established disability housing across this area (supported independent living homes operate in Granville, Merrylands and Auburn), and we're set up to attend in that setting rather than asking a participant to travel to us. If you're not sure yet where your plan sits or who to ask locally, Uniting is the NDIS Local Area Coordination partner for this region, covering Cumberland alongside Parramatta, Blacktown and The Hills 5. Fuller detail on how we run sessions, what's useful to have in place beforehand, and how support coordinators can refer, sits on our NDIS physiotherapy page.

For work injuries, Ahmed Elsayed holds SIRA approval (22498), covering NSW workers compensation and CTP claims directly. That's worth more here than in most parts of Sydney. Manufacturing and transport, postal and warehousing each employ a noticeably higher share of Cumberland residents than the Greater Sydney average 6, and the Auburn to Silverwater corridor is a logistics hub. Manual handling, forklift work and repetitive lifting produce a particular set of injuries (shoulders, lower backs, wrists), and treatment that doesn't cost you half a day of work is often what decides whether a rehab program gets finished or dropped. A visit at home or on site is usually the practical answer.

FAQs

What category does physiotherapy come under NDIS?

Physiotherapy is one of the therapy supports the NDIS can fund 4; it generally sits under capacity building rather than core supports, because the point of it is building function and independence over time. What matters most is how it's written into your own plan and which goals it's attached to. Our NDIS physiotherapy page goes through this properly.

How much does NDIS pay for physiotherapy?

Rates for therapy supports are set out in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, which are updated periodically, so it depends on the current arrangements and how your plan is managed. We'll confirm the rate that applies before we book, not after.

How much does a home visit physio cost in Cumberland?

It depends on session length and how you're funded: NDIS, a workers compensation or CTP claim, private health, or paying privately. Rather than publish a number that may not apply to you, get in touch and we'll tell you what a visit costs before you commit to one.

Do you actually travel out to Cumberland, and how soon can someone come?

Yes, we come out here, and we're upfront that it's a longer trip than our closer service areas, usually 35 to 55 minutes each way. That shapes availability; it doesn't prevent it. Tell us your suburb and the timeframe you need, and you'll get a straight yes or no, not a maybe.

Ready to get started?

Book an appointment and tell us your suburb and how you're funded (NDIS, WorkCover, CTP, private health or self-funded) and we'll confirm what's realistic before anything is locked in. If you'd rather talk it through first, contact us or call (02) 8111 5633.
